Take a look at what’s new on the ground + what other projects are taking off at at the airport.

Renovated runway

After reopening a shortened version of Runway 17R/35L back in May, DFW Airport announced that it was fully operation in mid-October.

The 13,400-ft-long runway was reconstructed with a high density asphalt overlay + features new LED lighting, improved drainage, and new signage.

On the horizon

  • In 2023, the airport announced a 10-year deal with American Airlines that would add a sixth terminal (Terminal F) + expand the Central Terminal area. Terminal F completion is expected by the end of 2026.
  • Terminal C’s south parking garage is currently closed for demolition + construction of a new garage.
  • The airport is modernizing its international parkway to make it more easy to navigate.
