Big surprise, it’s still sweltering. While we wait for temperatures to wind down, we’re sharing spots to try another indoor activity: roller skating.

Arlington Skatium | At 30,000 sqft, Texas’ largest roller rink is located a ~25-minute drive from downtown Fort Worth. Skaters can bring their own rollerblades or choose to rent a pair at the rink — you’ll have to pay a flat admission fee either way. When you get tired of gliding, grab some food from the snack bar or play a few games at the arcade.

Forum Roller World | This family-owned Grand Prairie roller rink offers solid maple wood flooring for an ideal skating experience. Newbie? All ages and levels can take part in skating lessons every Saturday, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

RollerLand West | Stop by RollerLand West on Wednesday evenings for a $6.50 skate special that includes traditional roller skate rentals. Rollerblades and trainers are also available.

RollerWorld NorthEast | Looking for a fun weeknight activity? Gather a few friends to check out RollerWorld’s adult skate nights on Thursdays from 8 to 11 p.m.

Silver Wheel Skating | Located in White Settlement, Silver Wheel has been around since 1952. Enjoy half price skate day on Wednesdays or a BYOB night (ages 18+) on Thursdays from 7 to 10:30 p.m.

Bonus: Check out the DFW Inline Skate Group and DFW Skate Group for group skates and meetups.
