La La Land is brewing up kindness

The Dallas-born coffee chain arrived in Cowtown and it’s serving more than just the “World’s Best Vanilla Latte.”

City Editor Elizabeth, here. I first tried La La Land Kind Cafe at its original location in Lower Greenville in Dallas more than three years ago. Stepping into the cozy, bungalow-style coffee shop was like stepping into a box of sunshine with its signature yellow adornments, not to mention the warm-and-fuzzies I got when the barista told me she loved me. Seriously, I always thought oh, how I wish Fort Worth had its very own dream world.

Well, now that dream is a reality. La La Land officially opens on Camp Bowie on Saturday, Feb. 8 making it the tenth location in DFW. Until then, you can stop by and try the “World’s Best Vanilla Latte” or a “Banana Cream Top Latte” through Friday, Feb. 7 for half off.

Making kindness a priority

In 2017, Southern Methodist University graduate Francois Reihani, who was featured on Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2021, set out to provide practical support and opportunities for youth in the foster care system. He conceived the We Are One Project, which soon became the La La Land Foundation. Two years later, the first La La Land opened and offered paid internships for youth graduating from foster care to the real world. For six years and counting, the foundation has been normalizing kindness + continues to evolve and find new ways to care for kids in the foster system.
