The four-block site in the former Hell’s Half Acre will soon be home to the new law school, an engineering academy, a health science center, and a virtual reality institute, which was recently awarded $25 million in state funding.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Chancellor John Sharp announced that Lockheed Martin is the first company to sign a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on courses, workforce training, and research with the school.
The eight-story Law and Education building, located between Calhoun and Jones Streets, will be the first to be built and is expected to open in 2025.
