As part of the effort to improve education in the Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD), the school board has approved a longer school year for 15 campuses. These campuses are called Additional Day School Year schools, or ADSY.

Each ADSY campus will add 25 four-hour summer enrichment days to its calendar starting May 26, 2026. Regular, non-ADSY schools will have already released for summer break — on May 21, 2026.

ADSY schools

  • Western Hills Primary
  • Briscoe Elementary
  • Carroll Peak Elementary
  • Clifford Davis Elementary
  • Morningside Elementary
  • Van Zandt Guinn Elementary
  • West Handley Elementary
  • Westcreek Elementary
  • Western Hills Elementary
  • WM Green Elementary
  • Daggett Middle
  • Jacquet Middle
  • Morningside Middle
  • Wedgwood Middle
  • William James Middle

Funding for these extra school days will be provided by House Bill 3 if campuses meet specific requirements. Buses will continue to run, plus breakfast and lunch will still be provided to students. FWISD teachers are not required to work these extra school days, but voluntary participation will result in additional compensation.
