If you’ve been a long-time subscriber to our daily newsletter, then you know Fort Worth has no shortage of small businesses. Fort Worthians, in fact, are so good at supporting local that WalletHub named Cowtown as the No. 11 best city in the US to start a business last year.

In honor of our many movers and shakers, we’re asking readers to nominate small businesses they love so we can share them with the whole audience. BTW — Business owners can nominate themselves.

We’ll be here to share a new batch of small businesses every month, so bookmark this page because you’ll want to come back for more, especially if you’ve enjoyed our Small Business Week coverage in the past.

Editor Elizabeth’s picks

Benbrook Tea & Wellness | Food + Beverage
“We have organic loose leaf teas, Italian coffee, and gluten-free treats. My Wellness Room hosts virtual classes and special events, such as a yoga workshop and chakra cleansing.” — Owner Karen Henderson

  • This happy little shop is located on Winscott Road just south of I-20, and Karen is the sweetest. I tried the “Happy Place” tea, which Karen said never disappoints. Pick one up for a friend the next time you drive by. Also, make sure you check out the gorgeous mural inside. You’ll have to visit in person to see it.

Adoarable Aesthetics | Health + Wellness
“I’ve felt as though there’s a large disconnect between the spa world and treatments that actually help. I wanted to create a space that gives anyone the ability to relax while receiving their treatment, so they don’t have to choose between one or the other.” — Owner Ashley Doar

  • Ashley’s my girl. She sometimes hosts special giveaways on her Instagram page, giving new clients a chance to try out a complimentary Platinum Hydrafacial.

Birdy’s Bagels, Locations vary by pop-up
“Birdy’s was born from following a surge of creativity, falling in love with the meditative practice of shaping bagels, and from the community demanding it grow. It is important to me to keep things simple, approachable, and human. Birdy’s is just that.” — Owner Holly Griffith

  • Serving hand-rolled bagels, specialty spreads, and bagel sandwiches, Birdy’s sets up local pop-ups around the Fort Worth community. Follow along on their Instagram for seasonal menu changes and where to find them.

David’s Barbecue, 2224 W. Park Row Dr., Pantego
“I am proud to be a part of a fifth-generation family business that has kept my family close for decades. We are unique in the barbecue scene because we aren’t experimenting — we continue to use the same family recipes. We want to be a place for people to know they will get consistently good food served with a smile.” — Owner Ashley Payne

  • Since 1910, the family-run classic Texas barbecue restaurant has kept it simple. It’s more than a restaurant — it’s a family, serving comfort and good food.

EnduraLAB | 2816 Shamrock Ave., Ste. 120

  • The gym offers a variety of functional fitness programs, personal and group training, and coaching that helps members reach goals from strength gains to marathon preparation. A one-week trial starts at $89.

The Resale Shop’s inventory is constantly changing, giving customers a reason to come back often for daily sales.

The Resale Shop, 6500 Camp Bowie Blvd.
“We are unique in that 100% of the proceeds directly benefit the programs of the Center for Transforming Lives. Our participants are regularly awarded “Resale Bucks” — store credit vouchers that they can use at any time to get clothing, housewares, furniture, and more.” — Spokesperson Trish Rodriguez

  • The shop offers a variety of gently used clothing, home goods, accessories, and furniture at very affordable prices. It’s hosting its first-ever Garage Sale on Saturday, March 28.

Jan Riggins Art, Locations may vary
“I became obsessed with creating 3D chalk art on my driveway, and after I saw how much unexpected joy it brought people, I eventually turned it into a business. Anamorphic street art has only been perfected by a small group of artists in the world. I’m one of a handful of artists in the United States that does it full-time.” — Owner Jan Riggins

  • A friend to FTWtoday, Riggins specializes in trompe l’oeil and anamorphic distortion. Pro-tip: When viewing my anamorphic artwork, look through a camera. The distortion from a camera causes the pieces to look 3D.
