Welcome back to FTWtoday’s Plan Ahead, a list of some of the biggest events that are taking place around Cowtown this month.

Seasonal

Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) | Friday, Jan. 16-Saturday, Feb. 7 | Events and performances vary | Dickies Arena + Will Rogers Memorial Center | $15+ for adults, $8+ for kids ages 6-16 | Check the full schedule of events, such as the Best of Mexico Celebracion, Cowboys of Color Rodeo, and more. General admission gets you access to the stock show grounds open 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily, plus many more features like live entertainment and the outdoor carnival.

Stock Show “All-Western” Parade | Saturday, Jan. 17 | 11 a.m. | Downtown Fort Worth | $0-$25 | Celebrate the kickoff of the FWSSR and reserve a spot near the Fort Worth Convention Center or Sundance Square. The TCU Band will be there to perform.

Frost Worth Festival | Saturday, Jan. 17 | 3-8 p.m. | Gateway Softball Fields | Free | Shop festive finds in our Vendor Village, grab bites from local food trucks, sing along at karaoke, and let the kids play in the Kid Zone. When the sun goes down, hit the dance floor for an epic DJ Glow Dance Party under the stars.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee Parade and Rally | Monday, Jan. 19 | 11 a.m.-2 p.m. | Fort Worth Convention Center | $0-$25 | Register to walk with Greater Fort Worth to celebrate the life and mission of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents “The Sounds of Paris” | Friday, Jan. 9-Sunday, Jan. 11 | Times vary | Bass Performance Hall | $32+ | Featured works of this special performance include Debussy’s “La Mer,” Chopin’s “Piano Concerto No. 2,” and Ravel’s “Pavane for a Dead Princess.”

FWSSR Auditorium Series: Colter Wall | Friday, Jan. 23-Saturday, Jan. 24 | 7:30 p.m. | Will Rogers Auditorium | $61+ | Catch the Canadian country-folk star known for his deep vocals and stripped-down Western sound during his two-night “Hardcore Country Tunes” show.

Pat Green | Saturday, Jan. 24 | 10 p.m. | Billy Bob’s Texas | $20-$65 | The Texan country star helped bring modern Texas troubadour music to a wider audience.

Homeschool Class: Sights + Sounds of World of Primates | Monday, Jan. 12 + Monday, Jan. 26| 1:15-3:45 p.m. | Fort Worth Zoo | $40 (Members receive 40% off) | Classes for home-schooled children, ages 6 to 11, include a live animal presentation and themed art and science lessons.

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra presents Disney’s “The Lion King” | Friday, Jan. 30-Saturday, Jan. 31 | 7:30 p.m. | Bass Performance Hall | $45+ | Bring your little lions to watch the timeless Disney classic on a big screen while the orchestra brings every note to life, performing the entire score. And yes — costumes are encouraged.

NCAA Game Day at the Omni | Monday, Jan. 19 | 5-10:30 p.m. | Omni Theater, Fort Worth Museum of Science and History | $50 | For the first time ever, watch the NCAA National Championship at Fort Worth’s biggest screen in 8K. There’ll be a full bar and open concessions throughout the game.
