New public library branch opening in Fort Worth

The new library opens on Saturday, Aug. 31.

The library’s mural was designed by Fort Worth artist Becca Waugh of Sleepy Panther Design Co.

District 7 is getting a new public library branch — its first library location since redistricting was completed in 2022. The new branch will open Saturday, Aug. 31 in the Clifford Crossing Shopping Center.

“I am incredibly excited to bring a full-service library to the residents of west Fort Worth,” Library Director Midori Clark said. “More access to resources, programs, and activities is always a win in my book, especially when it’s closer to home!”

Here’s what to expect at The Clifford Crossing Library:

  • Size | 5,110 sqft
  • Features | Regular library programming + 17,468 items
  • Hours | 12-8 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Saturday

Book it to the opening

Doors will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, followed by an opening ceremony and library programs throughout the day. If you head to the opening, you can expect:

  • A Fort Worth coloring book designed by Becca Waugh — the artist behind the branch’s mural in the children’s area — gifted to the first 300 guests
  • Library scavenger hunts
  • Pet portraits
  • Several 3D printing demonstrations
  • An Olympic trivia contest
