It will be a food fight like you’ve never seen before.

1,500 of the best chefs + home cooks will battle it out at Fair Park in hopes of being crowned the top chef + taking home the $300,000 grand prize at the World Food Championships (WFC).

The multi-day competition will give participants a chance to showcase their skills by preparing 8,000 dishes across 10 categories: bacon, barbecue, burger, chef, chili, dessert, recipe, sandwich, soup, and steak.

Leading up to the WFC, there were 500 qualifier events across the nation that fed top-notch talent into the Super Bowl of cook-offs.

These are the DFW chefs + bakers who impressed:

Other local chefs include Jean Francois Fortin, George Kobdish, Krystal Perez, Brian Erbe, Jason Rehbock, Jack Cashman, Lori McLain, and Luke Rogers.

How WFC is giving back

The WFC is partnering with the North Texas Food Bank to donate 5,000-15,000 extra pounds of food. The event will also make a financial donation to the Dallas 24 House Club and partner with Dallas College to give students the opportunity to work the event.

The event runs Fri., Nov. 5-Sun., Nov. 7.
