For kids K-12

Community Center Camps | Times, locations + prices vary
Check the full list — many local community centers hold camps for kids over winter break from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Trains at NorthPark Center, Dallas | Through Sunday, Jan. 4 (excluding Christmas Day) | 10 a.m.-8 p.m. | $10 for kids + $12 for adults
Head to level one across from Kona Grill to see a giant miniature toy train exhibit featuring 1,000+ ft of track. The showcase benefits the Ronald McDonald House

YMCA Camp Carter Winter Day Camp | Friday, Dec. 19-Monday, Dec. 22 | $65 per day for nonmembers
Archery, crafts, nature hikes, campfires + more are available at this camp for kids (ages 5-16).

Winter Zoo Camp | Monday, Dec. 22-Tuesday, Dec. 23 + Monday, Dec. 29-Friday, Jan. 2 (excludes New Year’s Day) | 9 a.m.-3 p.m. | $85 per day
Kids (ages 5-10) can learn about + visit with wildlife with daily activities.

For college students

Stockyards Rodeo Rink | Through Sunday, Jan. 4 | 90-minute slots between 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. | $20 for kids + $25 for adults
On Tuesdays, everyone who skates gets a coupon for a free Whataburger.

Casa Mañana’s “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” | Through Tuesday, Dec. 23 | $40+
