No swimsuit is required when visiting The Pool in the Near Southside. This new community art space opened this past weekend at 1801 8th Ave. — on the ground floor of Everly Plaza — and features 2,400 sqft of exhibition space.

The collaborative studio is managed by Near Southside Arts — a sister organization to Near Southside, Inc. — and aims to provide easily accessible + affordable art to our community. It also represents a “unique partnership” between Everly Plaza, Saigebrook Development, O-SDA Industries, and Near Southside, Inc., as it offers area residents + the community-at-large access to community art space.

Near Southside Inc. Director of Events and Communications Megan Henderson told Fort Worth Report that “The Pool is the culmination of decades of art advocacy, dreaming, and planning by a passionate community of artists and arts patrons. We couldn’t be prouder of the opportunity this community-owned space will provide to both established and emerging arts professionals in the Near Southside.”

The Pool’s inaugural exhibition, Vitro Moda, features works from 30+ glass artists at SiNaCa Studios a local nonprofit art school. Over the next few weeks, The Pool will offer several public and private viewings of the glass art exhibition. The exhibition will conclude from 12-9 p.m. on Sat., March 26 at Fort Worth Art Dealers Association’s Spring Gallery Night.
