Roll out the red carpet, food lovers (but watch the crumbs). Yesterday, the semifinalists were announced for the 2026 James Beard Awards — one of the culinary world’s most prestigious prizes — and North Texas stars are shining bright.

Fort Worthian

A chapter comes to a close for Visit Fort Worth as President and CEO Bob Jameson announces his retirement. His last day will be Thursday, April 30. The bureau will launch a national search for his successor. Stay tuned for the announcement. (Fort Worth Magazine)

State and local transportation officials have started pre-treating major roads with a brine solution as a looming arctic blast prepares to move in. Crews will be on standby 24/7, but drivers are urged to stay updated by using DriveTexas. (NBC DFW)

The 2026 black-tie Cliburn Gala is coming Friday, April 10, to the Fort Worth Zoo. “Iconically American” will be an ode to the country’s 250th birthday. Two Texas legends — Lyle Lovett and Robert Earl Keen — will make special performances. Grab tickets.
