If you could reduce your stress by 28% — would you do it? According to the American Psychological Association, that’s the average amount of stress that can be reduced by simply getting out in nature.

Nature Rx is a free program that lets participants access the Fort Worth Botanic Garden for free, in order to harness the healing power of nature. The initiative aims to support visitors who may not have access to the gardens due to financial, environmental, or transportation constraints.

Sound simple? It’s because it is. Just two hours a week in nature can improve overall well-being and increase life satisfaction.

When is it?

Nature Rx is offered on select Friday and Saturday mornings. Some of the offerings include:

  • Family or adult yoga classes
  • Forest therapy walks
  • Mindfulness workshops

How to register

  1. Go to Nature Rx’s homepage.
  2. Scroll down until you see “Register for Nature Rx.”
  3. Fill out first + last name, email address, phone number, zip code, gender, age, and who prescribed you. PS — it’s okay to self-prescribe.

And if you’re too nervous to apply (we get it), clear your schedule for these free admission days throughout the year — Friday, April 24, Friday, June 19, Saturday, Sept. 19, and Wednesday, Nov. 11.
