Last season of the Fort Worth Opera (FWO) brought us an international singing competition and a hilarious twist on the classic “Cinderella” story. Editor Elizabeth here,and I can attest to that. Watching the 2024-2025 FWO season closer “La Cenerentola” in Italian was sure a delight — even if I couldn’t understand a single word.
Now, the FWO is back for its 80th season, keeping it the oldest opera company in the state of Texas. Although the FWO’s last performance inside the W.E. The FWO will perform one act from “Beauty and the Beast” synchronized to film projected behind the musicians. Grab tickets to see it at the Ridglea Theater between Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.

The Fort Worth Zoo will host its third annual Deaf Day on Saturday, Sept. 20. Members of the Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing community are invited to the event where American Sign Language interpreters will be stationed throughout the zoo to provide communication to all guests.

Earlier this month, we asked our readers to rank their favorites among all three categories of the Choice Award finalists: savory, sweet, and sipper. Now, we present to you the official winners, and let’s see how the readers’ favs lined up.
The Savory winner this year is the Crab & Mozzarella Arancini, but for FTWtoday readers, the Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger Deviled Egg Sliders took first place with 36% of votes.
The Sweet winner is the Chill & Thrill Delight, but readers couldn’t wait to get in line for the Dubai Chocolate Cheesecake with 57.7% of votes.
And finally, the Sipper winner is the Cookie Chaos Milkshake, which readers put in their No. 1 spot. It earned 44% of votes.
