City Editor Elizabeth here. In November, I attended the Fort Worth Opera’s (FWO) 2024-2025 season-opening performance — a rendition of Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 classic novel “Little Women.” As a 90s baby who grew up loving the 1994 cinematic adaptation, I knew I didn’t want to miss it. The performance was the last one inside the W.E. Scott Theater ahead of its closure and possible redevelopment.
Don’t worry — the FWO is not halting production. Seeing as it is the oldest opera company in the state of Texas, it has no plans of slowing down. It has three upcoming shows lined up for its 79th season this year.
