It’s never too early to break out the lederhosen. Tickets are officially on sale for Fort Worth Oktoberfest, happening the weekend of Sept. 25 at Trinity Park. WFAA’s Krista Summerville walks you through the tradition’s festivities so you can start planning ahead.
The World Video Game Hall Of Fame has named “Defender,” “Goldeneye 007,” “Quake” + “Tamagotchi” as its 2025 inductees. If you recall trying to keep your “Tamagotchi” alive, you might remember some of these other Fort Worth moments from the late 1990s.
Seasonal
It’s written in the stars. Taurus season is coming to an end, and the time for Gemini will begin Wednesday, May 21. The air sign is known for being adaptable + curious, but sometimes indecisive. We think Fort Worth Geminis would find a perfect neighborhood match in Ryan Place.
Kids
Liam and Olivia — those were the most popular baby names in Texas in 2024 based on recently released data from the Social Security Administration. If you already know a Liam or Olivia, help them out by sharing these kid-friendly Fort Worth activities.
Sports
The Dallas Cowboys released their schedule this week, and the first regular season game will take place in Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 4. Get the biggest stories every day from the local experts of the Dallas Cowboys with Locked On’s daily podcasts.
Number
48 million. That’s how many Americans hear so poorly that their quality of life suffers — think: missing out on convos, concerts, and un-captioned movies. Fortunately, this hearing aid changes the game. Try out its dual processing technology for yourself with a free 45-day, no-risk trial.*

Improve gut health + boost natural production of GLP-1 (the same hormone Ozempic mimics for weight loss) with Bioma’s 3-in-1 formula. Get an extra 10% off with code 6AM10.*
Correction
We were a little out of tune this week. On Wednesday, we shared that Denton’s Breanna Nix made it to the top three of “American Idol.” While this is true, she wasn’t eliminated. You can watch the finale (and cheer her on) this Sunday, May 18 on ABC.

👋 Hey, neighbor
Surrounded by wooded areas and walking trails, Rivercrest is home to many young couples, families, and those who live an active lifestyle (or just love to golf). | Photo by FTWtoday
If you’re in the market to move around FTW, or you just want to know what each of its pockets offers, we’re rolling out the welcome mat and introducing you to 32 neighborhoods.
Rivercrest
Built around The Rivercrest Country Club (and also near Fort Worth’s Cultural District, Northside + downtown area), the Rivercrest neighborhood is home to historic estates, many of which date back to the early 1900s.
Arlington Heights
A popular neighborhood for families + single millennials, much of the Arlington Heights neighborhood features suburban Tudor and craftsman-style homes (read: a fair amount of green space) while still being close to all the downtown fun.
Ridgmar
Take a walk or drive through the alphabetical streets and you’ll see wide, shaded roads and beautiful, green hills. Most of the homes in Ridgmar are ranch-style (many of which were built in the ‘70s) and boast large backyards.
A shower scrubber mat. It’s made with 500 soft silicone bristles that remove dirt and dead skin. Bonus: It easily attaches to the floor or wall of your shower with non-slip suction cups.
Speaking of neighborhoods — if you’ve thought yours has been growing a lot lately, you’d be correct. Fort Worth’s population has officially hit (over) one million people, making it one of just 13 US cities to meet the milestone. Census data released yesterday puts Cowtown as the No. 11 largest city, passing Austin at No. 13.
