Tuesday, April 22 marks Earth Day — an annual holiday that’s celebrated by more than a billion people across 192 countries. This year’s campaign is “Our Power, Our Planet.” EarthDay.org has a plethora of resources that can help you get involved on local, national, and global levels.

Build your own terrarium | Friday, April 18 | Grab the kiddos, grades K-5, and head to the Wedgwood branch of the Fort Worth Public Library to turn recycled soda bottles into vibrant terrariums.
Earth Day: Run GREEN DFW | Saturday, April 19 | Don green and run for the planet in the 5K, 10K, or half-marathon races along the Trinity River Trail. Registration starts at $39.
Cookies and Corks | 6-7:30 p.m. | Salute Wine Bar | $45 | Novice decorators can join this 1.5-hour class, sip some wine, and decorate four spring-themed cookies.

Another way to celebrate Earth Day next week is by hitting a city trail on Saturday, April 26 for Trails Day. Trails Day is a national event highlighting the importance and accessibility of the 42,000+ miles of trails nationwide. DFW has 1,000+ miles of path to explore and is growing. Look for a trail near you.
