Phase one of three is complete for the re-imagined and remodeled Eastside YMCA Community Impact Center. Yesterday, the YMCA celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony event on its 16.4-acre campus on Sandy Lane.
The first phase of re-development included renovating its existing building, outdoor area, room for learning, fitness room, community kitchen, and youth areas. Starting in 2021, the YMCA hosted several sessions during which residents suggested the types of services they’d find most effective and impactful to the community.
Future renovations include building a full-sized gymnasium, revamping the outdoor sports field, and establishing an on-site childcare center.

Eat
We’re shocked that no Fort Worth restaurants made the 2024 James Beard Semifinalists. The closest that Cowtown foodies can get to a James Beard recipient are former semifinalists such as Goldee’s Barbecue, Don Artemio, Clay Pigeon, Ellerbe Fine Foods, and winner Joe T’s. (WFAA)

WFAA’s Pete Freedman shared Cowboys fans’ reactions to their new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. Spoiler alert — it’s anything but optimistic.

I love that Texas Wesleyan University is adding women’s flag football to its athletic program for the 2026 spring season (not claiming I’d be good or anything). In fact, I’m a much better spectator when it comes to sports.
