Community
The city is continuing its search for a downtown library location after announcing it will no longer pursue lease negotiations for the space at 100 Main St. This comes less than two months after City Council announced it would lease the space, but no formal agreements were signed at the time.
Closing
Park + Eighth, a boutique furniture store on Camp Bowie Boulevard, will close at the end of the year. The store announced its closure on Instagram and thanked patrons for their “support over the past seven years.” Shop in-store and online until Sunday, Dec. 31.
Coming Soon
Sabar Barbecue, a food truck that will combine Pakistani cuisine with the traditional flavors of Texas barbecue, will open at 194 Bryan Ave. on Saturday, Nov. 18. For now, the truck will only be open on Saturdays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Follow Sabar on Instagram for news + updates.

DrinkPAK, a beverage manufacturer based out of Santa Clarita, CA, is opening two local facilities. The manufacturer’s expansion in Carter Park East and Alliance will create 1,000 new full-time jobs with roles in production, maintenance, engineering, and more by 2026.

Preserving the Leonard’s legacy
Leonard’s Department Store artifacts added to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
Leonard’s Department Store Museum is transitioning its collection of artifacts and historical treasures to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History (FWMSH).
Take a trip back in time to some of the store’s historic moments.
In 1918, brothers Marvin and Obadiah founded Leonard Brothers Dry Goods Company on Houston Street, but it quickly evolved into a meg-complex covering seven downtown blocks.
Over the years, Leonard’s became known as a one-stop-shop, offering everything from pumpkin seeds to grand pianos, until it was sold to the Tandy Corporation in 1967. Tandy subsequently sold the store to Dillard’s in 1974.
The museum preserved the Leonard’s legacy, and that honor is now being passed to the FWMSH. Visit Leonard’s Department Store Museum for its final Santa at the Museum pictures Saturday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 16, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. + stay tuned for upcoming exhibitions at FWMSH.
