  • Near Southside community pioneer and advocate Joan Kline died on Saturday, Oct. 28 — the day of her 93rd birthday. Joan is remembered for her dedication to improving public parks and preservation of Fort Worth’s historic neighborhoods. Members of the community are invited to attend her visitation, burial mass, and internment.

  • Staff Sgt. Cody Foster — a fourth generation Air National Guard aviator stationed in Fort Worth — was named USO National Guardsman of the Year for saving the lives of a mother and her three-year-old child in November 2022. In honor of Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov. 11, the local community and businesses are coming together to celebrate our veterans and military families. As a token of our appreciation, we’ve made a list of Veterans Day events happening in and around Fort Worth.

Thursday, Nov. 9

Veterans Day Concert | 7:30 p.m. | Fort Worth Youth Orchestra Hall | $15
The Fort Worth Youth Orchestra will perform to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Friday, Nov. 10

Veterans Day Celebration | 11 a.m. | City Hall Outdoor Plaza, North Richland Hills | Free
This event will include a wreath of honor, NRH Police and Fire Honor Guard presenting the colors, and patriotic music performances.

Saturday, Nov. 11

Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade | 11 a.m. | Panther Island Pavilion | Free
Join Ceremonial Marshal Army Col. Joseph Campbell for the annual parade featuring cavalrymen. The parade route will travel along the east bank of the Trinity River.
