• Near Southside community pioneer and advocate Joan Kline died on Saturday, Oct. 28 — the day of her 93rd birthday. Joan is remembered for her dedication to improving public parks and preservation of Fort Worth’s historic neighborhoods. Members of the community are invited to attend her visitation, burial mass, and internment.

• Staff Sgt. Cody Foster — a fourth generation Air National Guard aviator stationed in Fort Worth — was named USO National Guardsman of the Year for saving the lives of a mother and her three-year-old child in November 2022.
