Beat the daylight saving slump with these Fort Worth activities

During daylight saving time, the clocks “spring forward,” allowing Fort Worthians to make the most of their evenings.

A river with green grass on either side and a bridge running across it. In the background, you can see several tall buildings against a blue sky, and the sun glinting off of one building.

We don’t know who needs to hear this but, spring is almost here.

It’s daylight saving time. At 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, clocks will jump forward to 3 a.m., meaning we’ll lose an hour of sleep, but gain brighter evenings for the next several months. If the time change has you feeling off, here are a few ways to make the most of those longer evenings around Fort Worth.

🌇 Take advantage of golden hour

Panther City has a skyline worth bragging about — capture the sunset on the lawn of the Amon Carter Museum for your phone’s background.

⏰ Reset your routine

If the lost sleep hits you hard, consider an early evening coffee or match run at any of our buzzing coffee shops or relax your body with a self-care session.

🎶 Catch live music after work

With daylight stretching later, concerts and outdoor shows feel even better. Many of North Texas venues have long setlists to amp up this spring.

🌳 Enjoy the great outdoors

Admire the spring foliage, get your steps in on Trinity Trails, or plan a picnic at any of Fort Worth’s parks.

🗓️ Attend a local event

Every month, we update our Plan Ahead with a variety of events happening in and around Fort Worth every single day, no matter when the sun sets.
