Your Fort Worth Wrapped is here, and it’s been a big year for Cowtown. Let’s dive into your top stories of 2025, but first, some stats.

  • 49,769 of you are subscribed to FTWtoday and know all the best news and events in our city — that’s 6,000+ more than 2023. Psst... send this newsletter to a friend to make sure they’re in the loop too.
  • You’ve read 260 newsletters. In those newsletters, we welcomed a new City Editor and shared over 1,000 News Notes. Thanks for being here!

You’ve changed, and so has Fort Worth. Let’s look at how you felt throughout the year.

  • In January, the Fort Worth Zoo introduced Moja, its first lion cub born in the new “Predators of Asia & Africa” exhibit — and he’s clawed his way into our hearts.
  • April saw the addition of a fresh grocery store in Fort Worth. H-E-B Alliance opened its first Tarrant County location, and our grocery lists haven’t been the same since.
  • In June, we dove into an important part of Texas, and national history when we interviewed Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth.”
  • We prepared to say farewell to LaGrave Field in October + November. The former home of the Fort Worth Cats auctioned off memorabilia ahead of its impending demolition.

Which FTWtoday articles reigned supreme? Fort Worthians, these three prove how much you love your city and its legacy.
