To honor the reduction in stigma around the mental health of new moms, here are four local and four national resources.

Some studies indicate that 85% of new moms experience postpartum depression. Thankfully, many local and national organizations exist to reduce the stigma associated with maternal mental health challenges.

May 5-11 is Maternal Mental Health Week. Where can new moms go for resources, and how best can you support them locally?

Local resources

Fort Worth Moms
This group has hundreds of different resources for moms, including a rundown of local therapy resources.

Tarrant County
The county offers a variety of local resources, as well as data on pregnancy and mental health.

Fort Worth Birth Center (FWBC)
Believing that no one should navigate parenthood alone, the organization welcomes conversations with new moms. FWBC is a safe space geared towards eradicating the stigma associated with motherhood and mental health.

“Maternal Mind Podcast”
This locally hosted show has dozens of real, deeply empathetic discussions about motherhood.
