Planning a trip to Big Bend National Park? Make the most of it during these fee-free days.

Start planning that outdoorsy road trip. The National Park Service is offering six free admission days this year to encourage the discovery and visitation of the country’s national parks.

The National Park Service manages 14 locations in Texas, including two national parks and other protected landscapes. Here are the participating parks:

The selected fee-free dates are:

  • Monday, Jan. 15: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
  • Saturday, April 20: First Day of National Park Week
  • Wednesday, June 19: Juneteenth
  • Sunday, Aug. 4: Anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act
  • Saturday, Sept. 28: National Public Lands Day
  • Monday, Nov. 11: Veterans Day

The fee waiver does not cover amenity or user fees for camping, boat launches, transportation, special tours, or other activities.
