Just how big is The Big Good?

When GRAMMY Award winner Leon Bridges and former TCU head coach (and recent College Football Hall of Famer) Gary Patterson shared a love for helping others, they came together to create The Big Good in 2021.

Its mission is to bridge the gap between other nonprofits and their unmet needs by raising awareness and contributions. But these partner organizations don’t just address a single issue in our community. They address several — literacy, education, food insecurity, and unemployment.

Since 2021, The Big Good has had four sole partners — the Tarrant Area Food Bank, United Community Centers, T3 Partnership, and Upspire. In 2025 alone, the nonprofit granted $1.25 million to these groups.

But — how do the rest of the years measure up?

Two DFW locals are up for Oscar nominations — Fort Worth’s Greg Kwedar and Dallas’ Clint Bentley. Both are nominated for “Best Adapted Screenplay” for “Train Dreams.” If these names sound familiar, you may recognize them from last year’s Academy Awards. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

The Wrap

I love seeing residents playing in the snow. Did you catch the Fort Worthian who carved an ice sculpture in the shape of a bull in his front yard? Many neighbors lined up to watch the sculptor in action. I would too. Continue playing it safe in these icy conditions and keep sending in pictures.
