Correction

Last week, we got our Willows in a twist. Three Baylor White & Scott “small format” hospitals are coming to the Fort Worth area soon — Renaissance Square, Texas Motor Speedway, and Willow Park (not Willow Bend). Learn more about what it means to be a “small format” facility. (Fort Worth Report)

Holiday

Valentine’s Day is around the corner. If you’re planning a swanky date night, lock in a table at one of Fort Worth’s buzzy new restaurants while you still can. Flying solo or hanging out with friends? Check out our events calendar for happenings that’ll make the night unforgettable.

History

On Jan. 26, 1932, a New York doctor subverted prohibition laws to benefit visiting British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The physician wrote a letter claiming Churchill’s recovery from an accident “necessitates the use of alcoholic spirits, especially at mealtimes.” No doctor’s note needed here — FTW’s happy hours await. Listen

Remember when almost every artist would release live albums? Streaming has drastically changed our access to live music, but we can still reminisce on the best examples from history. An album is good, but the real thing is better — as you’ll discover at DFW’s music venues. (The Guardian)

Answered

Which sourdough flavor would you try first?

A photo of two sourdough loaves, both with LF engraved in the top for La Farm Bakery. There is flour on top of the rounded loaves which are sat upon a wooden surface. The loaf in the foreground is in focus, and the one behind it is blurry.

It’s a tie. This week, we told readers how they could join the sourdough revolution and asked them to choose their favorite flavor. For FTWtoday readers, it’s between Jalapeno Cheddar and Cinnamon Honey Swirl. Our favorite flavors you came up with were olive and rosemary + spinach feta.

The Wrap

Happy Monday — I hope you stayed safe, warm, and well-fed during this weekend’s cold snap. My only regret? Not enough soup. Where is your go-to spot for a bowl? Let me know.
