We believe in the power of local media to keep the community informed, engaged, and excited about where they live. That’s why our newsletter is and will remain free.

How do we make it sustainable?

We partner with national brands and some of Fort Worth’s best organizations + businesses that support our mission of bringing only good news to your inbox. But we also rely on reader support.

🏀 Can the Mavs bounce back?

In June 2024, the Mavericks signed Harrison to a multi-year contract extension.

Yesterday, the Dallas Mavericks decided to part ways with General Manager Nico Harrison — about nine months after the infamous Luka Doncic trade that continues to be deeply felt by Mavs fans.

The team has appointed both Michael Finley (a 15-season NBA veteran and two-time All-Star) and Matt Riccardi (assistant general manager) as co-interim general managers. At the same time, the search for a permanent hire begins. We’ll keep you updated when they’re announced. Read owner Patrick Dumont’s letter to fans.

Catch the team at the American Airlines Center as they tip off against the Phoenix Suns tonight, or against the LA Clippers this Friday, Nov. 14. Scout tickets.

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Elizabeth Hastings

This week, I attended a 2026 Bond Open House meeting to learn more about the Fort Worth 2026 Program and other large planning efforts, such as the 2050 Comprehensive Plan.

There are four meetings left, if you’re looking to hear more or give feedback. Here are the remaining ones:
  • Tonight, Nov. 12, at 6 p.m. at Northside Community Center
  • Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. at Tarleton State University
  • Saturday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. at Eastside YMCA
  • Monday, Nov. 17, at 6 p.m. at Leo Adams Middle School
If you can’t attend in person, the city livestreams them. All residents are invited to provide feedback and use the online interactive Balancing Act tool to know exactly where the dollars are going.
