Hi y’all, Newsletter Editor Elizabeth here. This week, I celebrated my one-year workiversary with FTWtoday, and my favorite part of the job has been exploring Panther City.

Breakfast + coffee: La La Land Kind Cafe
After an early morning workout, I typically beeline my way to this shop. The Strawberry Fields matcha and hazelnut toast never fail to brighten my day — if you know you know. When you read about their foundation, you’ll fall in love too.
Lunch: Coco Shrimp
You’re from out of town? I’m taking you here. Hot take, but my favorite thing to order is not the shrimp plate, but the double coco tacos. It’s the perfect portion to fill me up, plus have rice for later.

The new $5.1 million Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEAM) Center at Cristo Rey Fort Worth College Prep is now open — adding 12 classrooms, advanced science labs, and a black-box theater. The space is designated to turn students’ dreams into possibilities. (Fort Worth Business Press)

The Dallas Cowboys have designated the Marshawn Kneeland Memorial Fund to support the family and girlfriend of the defensive end, following his death. It is open for donations. The team hosted a vigil for Kneeland on Tuesday. (Fort Worth-Star Telegram)

It’s the end of an era — the United States Mint recently pressed its final penny in Philadelphia. Midland’s Preacher Bill’s Coins owner William Welsh says don’t toss them — keep them. They could be worth far more than one cent someday. (Associated Press + NBC 5 DFW)
