Hi y’all, Newsletter Editor Elizabeth here. This week, I celebrated my one-year workiversary with FTWtoday, and my favorite part of the job has been exploring Panther City.

In honor of spending 365 days in your inbox, I’m sharing 10 of my favorite places in Fort Worth. So, let’s giddy up to the list.

Breakfast + coffee: La La Land Kind Cafe

La La Land Kind Cafe’s signature color is a cheery yellow.

After an early morning workout, I typically beeline my way to this shop. The Strawberry Fields matcha and hazelnut toast never fail to brighten my day — if you know you know. When you read about their foundation, you’ll fall in love too.

Lunch: Coco Shrimp

Can’t decide? Try the sampler plate.

You’re from out of town? I’m taking you here. Hot take, but my favorite thing to order is not the shrimp plate, but the double coco tacos. It’s the perfect portion to fill me up, plus have rice for later.

Dinner: Gemelle

Who doesn’t love a good photo opp?

I have this personal tradition: whenever I’ve been out of town for an extended time, I return and take myself out to Gemelle for the Bavette cacio e pepe and a glass of wine. It’s so good I could cry. Now with their $30 girl dinner? This place has my heart.

Brewery: Martin House Brewing Company

Sip, sip, hooray.

No surprise here. My favorite brewery is conveniently located near downtown and always has the nicest staff. The interesting flavors, like the Best Maid sour pickle beer, creamy peanut butter stout, and the Fiery Crunchy Cheesie Bois, are enough to make me go, “I’m sorry, what?” Yet, I keep going back.

Wine bar: WineHaus

Fresh off their Taylor Swift Wine Night this past weekend, WineHaus will be a participating venue during Drink Up Week.

When I learned about the live jazz every Friday, I practically became a regular. Hot summer nights on their back patio? Please. It can’t get better than that. This bar will remain closest to my heart because, fun fact — it’s where my sister hosted her rehearsal dinner in 2024.

Venue: Billy Bob’s Texas

FTW_line_dancing_billy_bobs

Enjoy free line dancing lessons every Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at Billy Bob’s.

Not my house, but I know my way around. Even as a sort-of country music lover (I know, I know), the world’s largest honky-tonk is where it’s at. It fills my heart with joy every time I get to put on a cute outfit, slip into cowboy boots, and two-step to “Drinkin’ Problem” by Midland underneath the bedazzled saddle, in the glow of neon lights.

Park: Gateway Park

Gateway Park is a popular destination for mountain bikers.

Did you know? Gateway Park is bigger than NYC’s Central Park (892 acres vs. 843 acres). When I meet someone new to town, I send them here.

Museum: Kimbell Art Museum

Spend your Saturday strolling through priceless pieces.

Between live ballets and Friday night happy hour, the Kimbell is one of the best spots to go during any season. In fact, it was just ranked No. 1 free attraction in the whole state of Texas. Be sure to check out the extremely rare marble exhibit on display now through Sunday, Jan. 25.

Place to work: Ascension Coffee

FTW_ascension_cereal_milk_latte

We recommend trying out the cereal milk latte and the Latin chicken and grain bowl.

Many of your FTWtoday newsletters have been written from Ascension. So many times, in fact, I’ve befriended the staff. Shoutout Teresa. Pro tip: Did you know they have a fall coffee flight right now?

Shop: Flea Style

Treat yourself to a custom hat in The Stockyards.

When I get a compliment on my outfit, my response is most likely, “Thanks, it’s from FleaStyle.” Just look at the custom hat I made at the hat bar on my birthday.
