Tuesday, Nov. 4 is Election Day and we’re doing our civic duty with a quick ballot breakdown.
Tarrant County residents can expect to see on 17 constitutional amendments. Early voting already began on Oct. 20, and ends this Friday, Oct. 31. If you did not register for early voting, check your polling location and head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Cookies and yoga — where do we sign up? A new coffee shop, bakery + yoga studio all-in-one is now open in Grapevine. The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame has announced a partnership with COWGIRL Magazine, ahead of the museum’s $19 million expansion set to open next year. The partnership includes “storytelling initiatives and digital features” aimed at spreading awareness of the museum.

Over 20 students from Fort Worth Country Day have earned national recognition for academic success, including a National Merit Semifinalist and 11 National Merit Commended students. Semifinalist Andrew Lobo now has the chance to compete for one of the 6,900 National Merit scholarships. (Fort Worth Magazine)

Trinity Metro rail stations could have more to offer in the future. The transit agency is considering ways to upgrade areas surrounding some stations to be more of a mixed-use hub. This week, the Dallas Mavericks announced they’ll retire jersey No. 24 in honor of Mark Aguirre, the Mavs’ first No. 1 pick in 1981. The ceremony is on Thursday, Jan. 29. WFAA Producer Sandra Turner shared the heartwarming moment when the basketball legend found out.

FTW’s Parks & Recreation Department will host an adaptive skateboarding class this Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Fire Station Community Center.
Adaptive skateboarding is designed for individuals with disabilities — including visual, developmental, and physical impairments. The event is free (with registration) and all skaters aged 6+ are welcome.
