Event Spotlight

🎶 Don’t miss this rare performance

Tetelman’s appareance on TCU’s campus marks one of the biggest cultural moments for Fort Worth and the opera.

We already told you guys about the Fort Worth Opera’s upcoming 80th season, but we failed to mention that the season opener is a world-renowned tenor who rarely makes appearances in the US.

The New York Times called Jonathan Tetelman “a total star,” and his only other American performances coming up are at NYC’s Carnegie Hall and DC’s Kennedy Center.

There are only 700 seats at the Van Cliburn Concert Hall (versus Carnegie’s 2,804). If that doesn’t make you want to eye tickets for the Friday, Oct. 10 showstopper, we don’t know what will.

News Notes

Mansion Monday

Tiny homes are coming to North Texas. Yes, apparently they’re a thing. Tiny homes are less than 700 sqft and start at about $100,000. We couldn’t find any homes that small in FTW, but we did find this charming 1,032-sqft cottage in Mistletoe Heights. Looking for something bigger? Try this mansion. (WFAA)

Try This

Good news, Fort Worth: Second Thursdays at the Carter is back this Thursday, Sept. 11 with Inspiration & Identity. Discover the exhibition “East of the Pacific: Making Histories of Asian American Art” and learn about these visionary artists’ influence on American art. RSVP to secure your spot.*

Leon Bridges is coming home for a special charity concert on Tuesday, Oct. 7. Bowie House — in partnership with Bridges’ nonprofit The Big Good — will host the benefit to support local organizations. Check out tickets + a room package. (CultureMap Fort Worth)

Coming Soon

An Italian kitchen will open up inside the former Funky Picnic Brewery. The owners of Bocca Osteria Romana will introduce Felina to Near Southside this fall, and will serve housemade pastas and Italian street food. Its head chef, Alessandro Salvatore, was named the 2025 Chef of the Year by CultureMap. (CultureMap Fort Worth)
Sometimes, a picture-perfect moment happens. Even rarer than that is for someone to catch it on film. Lucky for us, those moments are portrayed in this year’s Wildlife Photographer of the Year award. This is your sign to bring your camera to the Fort Worth Zoo to hone your craft.

Fun Fact

Did you know the oldest town in Texas was founded in 1779? Nacogdoches, which sits 227 miles east of Austin, was established 60 years before the Capital City. Still, there’s plenty of history to uncover right here at home. (Business Insider)

City Guide

🍂 When will it feel like autumn?

A map of the United States that shows states in shades of orange, red, blue, or in white.
Most of the country is expecting a warmer than normal autumn. | Map courtesy of NOAA
We know the question on every Fort Worthian’s mind. Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expect in our city for September, October, and November.

While exact weather conditions typically can’t be predicted more than a week in advance, here’s a seasonal outlook to help you prepare for what fall will bring.

🌡️ Temperature
Think warm. This fall, Fort Worth has a 40-50% chance of temperatures being higher than normal.

🌨️ Precipitation
Expect slightly less precipitation. Fort Worth has a 33-40% chance of seeing below normal rainfall amounts this fall.

Sunny September
Typically in Panther City, September’s temperatures fluctuate between an average low of 70° and an average high of 89° — expect to see more of those near-90° days this year. That may seem warm, but remember that Fort Worth’s average high in August is 95°.
Look forward to cooler weather

The Wrap

Today’s edition by: Elizabeth Hastings

Over the weekend, Maple Branch Craft Brewery celebrated the grand opening of its coffee shop, Branch & Bean, with the release of its fall drinks and the debut of the Coffee Blonde Ale. I took myself there on Friday to try it out.

If you look closely, you can see the Oktoberfest decorations already set up. Mark your calendars, because Maple Branch’s 5th Annual Oktoberfest runs Saturday, Sept. 20 + Friday, Sept. 26-27. I’m most excited about the live polka music.
