Birds of North Texas | 6-7 p.m. | Bedford Public Library, Bedford | Free | Bird lovers — join Fort Worth Audubon Society Education Chair Jim Jones for a discussion on a variety of North Texas bird species and their habitats.

Meals On Wheels Sunset Safari Social | 5 p.m. | The Usual | Cost of purchase | Join the nonprofit for a cocktail hour as they count down the days until the Safari Under the Stars event with the Fort Worth Zoo on Saturday, Sept. 13 — also, earn a chance to win two free tickets.
Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience | 9 p.m. | Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall | $17+ | If you missed the English rock band in the 1970s or are looking to relive the “Hammer of the Gods” phenomenon, then experience one of the most impressive tribute bands today — check out a teaser here.
If you’ve driven down Lamar Street and through the tunnel under I-30 you may have noticed two sets of longhorn-shaped fixtures. That’s “Flight,” an LED light installation by Dan Corson, and it’s once again lighting up at night. (Fort Worth Magazine)
Plan Ahead
Koe Wetzel will head to Tarleton State University in Stephenville on Saturday, Sept. 13 to help break in the school’s new 7,500-seat arena — the Educational Employees Credit Union. In 2011, Wetzel was a linebacker for the football team. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. (Fort Worth Magazine)
Wellness
The city will host a wellness fair this Saturday, Aug. 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Head to the Amon Carter Riverside High School for free health screenings, activities, and to meet with community resource vendors.

A Colleyville favorite is getting the Guy Fieri treatment — again. Chef Point Restaurant & Bar will be featured on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” on Friday, Aug. 15. It’s the second time the spot has landed on the show. Consider trying it out before the food joint blows up from the spotlight. (CultureMap Fort Worth)
Outdoors
Be on the lookout for updated signage along the Trinity Trails. The Tarrant Regional Water District intends to upgrade safety features and guidelines for the 100-mile system, including new signage, sidewalk striping + speed limit signs. An exact timeline for the rollout was not announced. (Fort Worth Report)
The Word
Tácito. That’s the word a White Settlement ISD seventh grader spelled correctly to bag the first-place spot at the 2025 National Spanish Spelling Bee. The competition was held in Albuquerque, NM this month. The speller beat 34 contestants and took home $4,000. (The Dallas Morning News)

Over the weekend, Riscky’s Barbecue hosted its 19th annual rib-eating contest in the Stockyards. Congratulations to Richard Cofsky for his eighth first-place win of the competition. He took home the grand prize of $500 gift card to the restaurant — which is about 15.6 full racks of ribs.
