News Notes

Cause

An estimated 100 billion gallons of rainwater fell during the Fourth of July downpours in Kerr County. The Texas Tribune has created a guide for how to help — donations to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund will benefit rescue + recovery efforts in the region, and there are also various local organizations looking for contributions.

Mansion Monday

This home rests in the gated community of Montserrat + it’s got a heated diving pool in its backyard. The 5,080-sqft residence — built by Braswell Custom Homes — also features a circle driveway, an outdoor pool bathroom, and a main bedroom fireplace.
Would you try a spicy mango-flavored pickle? How about a strawberry cheesecake-flavored pickle? Supposedly pickles of any kind are the unofficial snack of the summer. Host of WFAA’s “Good Morning Texas” Erin Hunter spoke with the founder of Glorious Gherkins Latoya Moppins to review her wacky flavor combos.

Outdoors

Going camping soon? Hipcamp allows you to browse campsites by location, date, and even party size. It looks like 4R Ranch Winery Campsite in Muenster has availability this weekend for two — and a winery.
