Outdoors
Have you heard the buzz? Mosquito season is here, and Tarrant County Public Health has already confirmed one positive West Nile virus test from a trap site. In response, Fort Worth has shared tips on avoiding the bugs, like draining stagnant water and wearing bug spray.
Ranked
Fort Worth’s parks are making strides in the right direction. Cowtown ranked No. 72 on Trust for Public Land’s 2025 park system ranking — up 19 spots from last year’s list. The improvement is attributed to efforts like GREENprint that aim to enhance public offerings. (Fort Worth Report)
Plan Ahead
Crystal Springs Hideaway is bringing a German tradition to Fort Worth from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1. The River District beer and wine garden will celebrate Maifest, which observes spring’s arrival. The free celebration will include polka bands, stein hoisting competitions, and food + beer deals. The Buy
A great find in Nordstrom’s Half-Yearly Sale. Markdowns as high as 60% are on the table — here’s what we’re eyeing:
🛍️ This cozy, ultra-soft cardigan is 30% off and perfect for relaxing in.
🛍️ Get 30% off petite wide-leg linen pants that are breezy and light for summer.
🛍️ Take 60% off this blue wrap dress that can take you straight from the office to drinks out.
🛍️ These Nordstrom brand men’s chinos come in tan, grey, or navy — all are up to 40% off.
🛍️ This Tory Burch tote was recently marked down by 30% — we’re only a little obsessed with the print.
One of my favorite recent TV binges was “Girls5eva” on Netflix, and the show has a tribute song to Fort Worth. While it’s meant to be funny, there are a lot of facts incorporated into the lyrics, including an outdated nod to Cowtown’s booming population.
