Lili’s Bistro on Magnolia Avenue will close after owner Vance Martin’s retirement this month. Lili’s — which opened in 2007 — is known for its comfort dishes, nightly music, and its vintage ad for Mrs. Baird’s bread. The last day to get Gorgonzola cheese waffle fries is Saturday, May 31. Turn down for what? Rapper and producerLil Jon is joining Timbaland as co-headliner at the Tacos and Tequila Festival on Saturday, May 17, at Panther Island Pavilion. Unfortunately, Busta Rhymes had to step down due to a family matter and will not be attending. Don’t miss this month’s other big events.

Studies show that businesses with a solid business plan are more likely to succeed. Luckily, the city is reintroducing its Business Plan Competition. The top 20 winners will participate in classes with Frost Bank and city partners + the first-place winner will win $10,000. Apply now through Sunday, June 15.
Theater
Stage West Theatre has announced its lineup for the 2025-2026 season. Its 47th season will be comprised of six premieres, including “Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Ghost Machine” and “Ride the Cyclone,” which will be co-produced with the TCU Theater. TCU’s board is changing the name of the school’s music center to honor Megan and Victor Boschini. The Boschinis have dedicated 22 years of service to the university, but aren’t stopping there. Starting Sunday, June 1, Victor Boschini will assume the role of chancellor emeritus and chief enrollment officer.
History
The local nonprofit Historic Fort Worth has named nine spots on its 2025 Most Endangered Places list, including six Fort Worth ISD schools. If enough financial support can be raised or if the property owners designate the buildings as historical, then the locations could be saved from demolition. (Fort Worth Report)
