No frills? No problem.

Eggs Benedict is one of City Editor Elizabeth’s favorite brunch meals. | Photo by Amber Renea Photography
City Editor Elizabeth here. OpenTable has released its 2025 list of Top 100 Brunch Restaurants, but here’s the kicker — Fort Worth doesn’t appear on it. Three Dallas restaurants made the rankings: Al Biernet’s, Pacific Cafe, and Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill.

I get it — Dallas has some great food options. We love our friends over at DALtoday, but here at FTWtoday, there’s a special place in our hearts for our local brunch restaurants. Here are three of my no-frill favorites + exactly what I order.

Daybreak Cafe & Grill
It’s easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Just how quickly this little joint fills up is a testament to its great service. Here’s what I order: two chorizo and egg breakfast tacos + a hot black coffee.

Bluebonnet Cafe
A family favorite. If you see me here, then it’s either around the holidays or I’ve got family in town. Here’s what I order: the bluebonnet breakfast + a sticky bun.

Shaw’s Patio Bar & Grill
Shaw’s is one of my old haunts, seeing as I used to live two blocks away. I’d walk there almost every weekend. Here’s what I order: the migas + two (maybe three) mimosas.
