      Development

      $1.25 billion. That’s how much the latest expansion of Cook Children’s Medical Center is expected to cost, according to S&P Global Ratings. The new 700,000-sqft tower is expected to be complete in 2030. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)

      After 27 years in Sundance Square and six months at Stage West Theatre, Four Day Weekend is looking for a new home. The comedy troupe will wrap up its residency on Friday, Feb. 28 + is searching for a new site. Don’t miss pop-up shows around town in March and April.

      Community

      Take flight in a winged wonderland with “Butterflies in the Garden” at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. During March and April, thousands of native and exotic butterflies will flit around the Rainforest Conservatory. Grab tickets + fly back to last year’s exhibit.

      Plan Ahead

      Three local restaurants are set to headline a new barbecue and country music festival at AT&T Stadium in May. Grab tickets to chow down on Dayne’s Craft Barbecue, Hurtado Barbecue, and Panther City BBQ while jamming to music from Cody Jinks, Jon Pardi, and Midland at the inaugural Lone Star Smokeout.

      A local bakery is closing after 90 years of selling pie. Hutch’s Pie and Sandwich Shop started when Hutch Hutchens began selling hand-sized fried pies out of his garage in 1935. In 1985, the enterprise opened a cafe in Weatherford, but will close its doors on Saturday, Feb. 15. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
