Freezing temps are here + we’re in for a frosty week. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter storm warning for North Texas beginning this morning, and ending around midday on Friday, Jan. 10.
Texans are understandably apprehensive about arctic blasts after the storm in February 2021. Still, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas is monitoring weather conditions and is expecting to meet the predicted demand.
For those traveling through DFW Airport, expect flight delays and cancellations, particularly for inbound flights. Keep an eye on your flight status. If traveling by car, TxDOT has salted thousands of road miles including bridges, hospitals + areas surrounding emergency shelters to prevent ice from forming.
Tarrant County school districts will make individual announcements for closings and delays. Refer to the full list for each district.
