Grapevine’s Waffle Way is set to close on Saturday, Nov. 2 after 37 years in business. The restaurant known for its Belgian waffles cited the economy as a reason for closing in a notice — a Waffle Way representative said that it was closing due to “a variety of factors.” (CultureMap Fort Worth)

Train dispatchers who work for the Fort Worth-based BNSF Railway are set to receive wage increases + additional benefits. The pay increase comes after BNSF and the American Train Dispatchers Association came to an agreement earlier this month. (Fort Worth Report)

Construction on New City Hall continues to move forward, including rooftop lighting upgrades taking place over the next few months. Check out what else is happening over at 100 Fort Worth Trail.
New lighting
Through the end of December, New City Hall’s lighting system will be undergoing upgrades. What does this mean? You may not see City Hall’s rooftop lit up for certain events like normal, as the lights will remain off or in testing phases.
Several departments and programs have already made the move to New City Hall. Here’s what’s already cooking at the new location:
Customer service hub | Development services, water bill pay, water applications, and central cashier for residents
Mayor + Council | Mayor Mattie Parker and city council began working in the new space in January; City Council meetings are still taking place on Texas Street while the chamber is under construction
Parking | Free parking is open and available now, with vertical garage expansions set to begin early 2024
