With its vintage bookshop-inspired bar, basement speakeasy, and luxurious cigar lounge, the prohibition-style concept is one of Fort Worth’s most unique event spaces.
Invite friends, family, or coworkers to escape the ordinary for a night by hosting your next event at Thompson’s Bookstore.
We can’t plan your party for you, but here’s a look at some suggested events for each space:
For intimate gatherings
Are you looking to host a small cocktail party or literary event? The Bookstore level is a versatile space surrounded by large bookcases with cozy lighting — and yes, it even smells like old books.
For larger groups
The Speakeasy and dedicated event space offer flexible floor plans, plush seating, and extensive bar space for larger events like birthday parties or wedding receptions. After all, what’s cooler than partying in a private speakeasy?
For cigar aficionados
The Cigar Lounge offers the ultimate immersive experience. Sink into a big leather chair and enjoy a premium cigar with a group of close friends or host an upscale networking event.
For an interactive experience
Try a mixology class. Participants will learn how to mix, shake, and stir three classic cocktails. Taste everyone’s creations and see who’s the best bartender in your group.
Remember how we said we couldn’t plan your event for you? That’s still true, but Thompson’s has a team of event coordinators who can make recommendations on how to customize each space to match your vision.

Homecoming season is here — and if you’re from Texas, you know it’s more than just ribbons, football, and alumni events. Homecoming mums have been a tradition in Texas since the early 1900s and have since become a statement-making hallmark of high school life in the Lone Star State.
Can you imagine hauling around these Guinness World Record breaking mums?
In October 2023, Lewisville High School broke records with a 27-sqm (290.64-sqft) maroon and white mum in honor of the school’s 125th anniversary.
Last year, Walnut Grove High School in Prosper suspended a two-story silver and navy mum with sparkly stars and a large chevron ribbon from the school’s atrium.
Arlington ISD previously claimed the largest homecoming mum with a 22-ft-long, 6.5-sqm pink and white creation honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Before that, beloved Texas fast-food chain Whataburger held the “World’s Largest Mum” record with its 18-ft-tall orange and white mum that took 120 hours to build.
