New public library branch opening in Fort Worth

A mural depicting a river running through Fort Worth. The mural pictures the Stockyards, two people kayaking on the river, horses, and several popular local landmarks. The words "Where the West begins!" are painted across the top of the mural.

District 7 is getting a new public library branch — its first library location since redistricting was completed in 2022. The new branch will open Saturday, Aug. 31 in the Clifford Crossing Shopping Center.

Fort Worth is booked and busy when it comes to library happenings. Fort Worth Public Library opened another new branch on the far southwest side of town last summer, and City Council recently approved the purchase of 0.46 acres at 512 W. 4th St. to open a new downtown library branch.
