Asked

When was the first MICHELIN Guide published?

The MICHELIN Guide was created in Clermont-Ferrand, France by brothers Andre and Edouard Michelin to promote car travel — and the subsequent sale of their famous tires. Guess which year the brothers started publishing a small red book with handy info including maps, tire changing instructions, and places to eat.

Give your dog a new lease on lunch

A doodle pup waits for his Nom Nom dog food to be poured into his bowl.
Nom Nom’s meals are pre-portioned for your dog’s unique caloric needs, so there’s no guessing, no scooping. | Photo by Nom Nom
Dog parents know that a stimulating day begins and ends with enriching meals.

That’s why Nom Nom’s enticing variety of vet-developed recipes burst with the nutrients dogs need and the tastes and textures they crave. Imagine — beef that looks like beef and carrots that look like carrots. No high-temperature vats, artificial flavors, or impossible-to-pronounce preservatives.

That’s because Nom Nom is made with love (aww), not meat meal (eek).

Grapevine architecture firm Type Six filed plans with the Fort Worth Urban Design Commission for a new Hilton hotel in the Near Southside.

The new Tempo by Hilton is proposed at 1200 Hemphill St. with 155 rooms stretching from West Rosedale to West Magnolia Streets.

Rising six stories, the Magnolia Green Tempo would be the tallest hotel in the area + could include a fitness center, patio, bar, restaurant and meeting rooms. Guests would have access to valet parking in the Alston Avenue garage.

Hilton’s Tempo brand — centered around wellness and fitness for guests — has only three locations: New York City; Nashville, Tennessee; and Louisville, Kentucky; with a fourth location opening in Raleigh, North Carolina in November.

Stay tuned for more details about Tempo + check out other hotels in the works around Fort Worth:

Did you know that the Kimbell Art Museum is home to Michelangelo’s first painting? Known for sculpture and the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, the artist painted “The Torment of Saint Anthony” in his early teens. The museum acquired the piece in 2009 + it is the only Michelangelo painting in North or South America.
