Did you know the World’s Second Oldest Continuously Burning Light Bulb has been shining bright in Cowtown since 1908? The “Light Bulb Methuselah” was originally installed in a local opera house before relocating to the Stockyards Museum in 1977.

I’m really excited to see what happens with the Panther Island Project and the continued development of the Northside. Vision 2.0 has been interesting to watch unfold, and the upcoming Stockyards expansion could be a game-changer.

I would jog the Trinity with my husband, six-month-old, and dog. Then, we’d get a matcha latte from Cafe Momento and grab some wings and a cold beer from our favorite bar Nickel City for lunch.

Demolition has been delayed for 180 days on the historic Kimbell Milling Co. Building. Owner Cenikor Foundation Inc. hopes to demolish the 1929 structure at 2109 S. Main St. that once housed the office of Kay Kimbell, the local philanthropist who helped found the Kimbell Art Museum. (Dallas Business Journal)

Looking for a sweet way to spend the weekend? Head west to the Parker County Peach Festival, held in downtown historic Weatherford (~30 miles west) on Saturday, July 13 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Started in 1984 by the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce, the annual festival is overflowing with fruit-themed features. Get ready for:
Parking: Remote paring is available at Weatherford College, Weatherford ISD Ninth grade Center + Heritage Park. Bonus: Hop on one of the free air-conditioned shuttles to the festival.
Stay cool: Stop by First Baptist Church to soak up the air-conditioning + keep an eye out for Hydration Sponsors handing out free water.
