Elementary students in Fort Worth ISD will no longer receive letter grades on report cards. District officials plan to shift to a new grading model that shows parents how students perform against state standards, instead of a percentage grade for each subject. The former Fred’s Texas Café building at 915 Currie St. was sold to Dallas-based Young Partners earlier this week. The commercial real estate firm said it hasn’t decided on redevelopment plans for the property yet. Fred’s moved from that location to Camp Bowie West Boulevard in 2022. (Fort Worth Magazine)

Riff Ram Bah Zoo — the 2024 TCU football schedule is out. The Horned Frogs will open the season on Friday, Aug. 30 at Stanford and play their first home game against Long Island University on Saturday, Sept. 7. Ticket sales will open Monday, May 6.

TCU’s Sonny Dykes is the new chair of the 2024 NCAA Readers Become Leaders program. Hosted by the Fort Worth Sports Commission, the competition will include 37,000 Fort Worth ISD elementary students. America Airlines is excited about the potential Super Bowl match — that is, Taylor Swift and Chiefs TE Travis Kelce.
The Fort Worth-based airline added two flights — Flight 1989, a nod to Swift’s birth year and, arguably, her most popular album. The flights will take off on Friday, Feb. 9 + Saturday, Feb. 10 from Kansas City to Las Vegas. Following the game, there is also a Flight 87, Kelce’s jersey number, that departs Las Vegas on Monday, Feb. 12.
