  • West Berry Street music venue Lola’s Fort Worth closed its doors last week after 16 years. The news comes on the heels of the closures of Northside’s Downtown Cowtown and Near Southside’s Twilite Lounge. Catch a show at one of these other music venues.
Development
  • Renderings were released for a new 307-unit apartment complex on West Vickery Boulevard and Hemphill Street. Having landed $61 million in funding, Trademark Property Co. is set to break ground early next year on The Vickery, which will also have 14 townhomes, a public park, and a restaurant. (The Dallas Morning News)
Concert
  • Country music star Tim McGraw added Cowtown to his 2024 “Standing Room Only Tour.” The “Live Like You Were Dying” artist will perform at Dickies Arena on Friday, April 12. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 8.

Legacy
  • Local philanthropist and housing advocate Dr. Flora Brewer died last month at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer. Mayor Mattie Parker commended Brewer on her commitment to tackling homelessness and building sustainable solutions for our city. (Fort Worth Report)

  • After months-long negotiations, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department ended its eminent domain proceeds for Fairfield Lake State Park, ~two hours southeast of Fort Worth.
