With the weather starting to cool off, it’s time to lace up your sneakers and head to these local trails to start training for upcoming races. Browse our list of marathons, half marathons, and 10K + 5K races happening this fall in Fort Worth.
Oktoberfest Run und Ride
Run a 5K or 10K along the Trinity Trails or bike 20 miles through town. Participants get a free three-day pass to the festival celebrating German culture. Bonus points if you wear lederhosen.
Rock of Ages Run
Rock your way through a 5K, 10K, or half marathon to the beat of music that will be played along the course. Plus, chow down on post-race pancakes.
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
Help the Alzheimer’s Association reach its $420,000 goal and get a colorful Promise Garden flower to connect with other participants and supporters.
John Wayne Grit Series
The 5K course starts at John Wayne: An American Experience and travels along the Trinity Trail. The race benefits the John Wayne Cancer Foundation.
Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot
The annual Thanksgiving race runs along the Clearfork trail with 1K, 5K, and 10K courses. Proceeds support programs at The Y including childcare, water safety lessons, summer camp, and youth sports.

According to a new report from the North Texas Real Estate Information System, the median single-family home price in DFW declined 2% from July to August. Currently estimated at around $406,000, the median home price is still 44% higher than it was in March 2022.

Fort Worth is full of great music venues and a new state program will provide up to $100,000 to help bring more concerts to the area.
The Texas Music Incubator Rebate Program (TMIR) — signed into law in 2021— now has $20 million in funding to help venues create and support live music performances in the state.
Under Texas Government Code Chapter 485, the TMIR Program provides full and partial rebates on the sales tax for alcoholic drinks to music venues and festival promoters.
Applicants must meet several criteria including:
Subject to mixed beverage gross receipts tax or sales tax for beer or wine
A music venue with a capacity of under 3,000 people.
A music festival promoter and held an event in a county of less than 100,000
Compensate performance artists
