Energy Ogre can help save you up to 40% on your electric bill by comparing costs from energy providers. | Photo by FTWtoday
The blistering triple-digit heat is beating down on North Texans this summer, and now many are getting burned by high electricity bills. This year’s heat waves are making us sweat in more ways than one. Hello, blasting ACs and high energy bills.

Ready to pay less for electricity? Energy Ogre can help choose the best energy plan for you.

What we tried:

Texas’ competitive electricity market means choosing a different plan could save you money. Energy Ogre is a consumer advocate in this space taking advantage of the market to actively monitor thousands of offers and match them to a consumer’s electricity usage. This results in maximum savings, while also taking the hassle out of dealing with an energy provider.

We recently tried out the service to see how much we could save with an Energy Ogre membership. Keep reading to see how much we saved + how you can Try This.

🥂 Let’s hit the speakeasy

6 speakeasy-style bars to visit in Fort Worth

The Amber Room

We’re a solid 100 years out from the time speakeasies flourished in the Prohibition era of the 1920s — but the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Today, speakeasy-style bars — like these six in Fort Worth — act as a nod to the past. Except this time, it’s totally legal.

The Library Bar | 611 Houston St.
This one is for the bookworms. Grab a signature cocktail and kick back with your favorite book at this downtown speakeasy-esque bar. There are also flat-screen TVs to catch your favorite sports teams and some pool tables.

Curfew Bar | 350 W. 5th St.
You’ll find this bar in the heart of downtown at the base of The Tower. Before you walk in, you’re met by the mechanical fortune teller, Zoltar. Once inside, you’ll find a ceiling filled with disco balls, signature drinks like the Painkiller (Jamaican pot rum, coconut cream, orange juice, pineapple, nutmeg + mint), and neon signs.

From the editor
One of my favorite ways to unwind from the workday is with a yoga class. I’ve been practicing yoga for about six years and I can’t imagine my life without it. Aside from being a great workout, it’s alleviated a lot of back and shoulder pain I developed during my collegiate gymnastics career.

Learn more about the physical and mental health benefits of yoga and check out a studio near you.
