The concert scene is truly unmatched — from riverfront music venues to massive stadiums, there’s a stage for any type of tune. To get to know them all, you must do three things.

Arenas
Dickies Arena | 1911 Montgomery St.
Capacity: 9,300-14,000
Named one of the best venues in the world by Billboard, the multi-purpose arena opened in 2019 and has welcomed some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Later this year, the arena will see George Strait, Shania Twain, and KISS.
Concert halls
Bass Performance Hall | 525 Commerce St.
Capacity: 2,000+
The multi-purpose facility stands out in Sundance Square with its majestic angel sculptures made with Texas limestone quarried near Austin. The venue has hosted hit Broadway shows like “CATS,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma.”

Outdoor settings
Panther Island Pavilion | 395 Purcey St.
Capacity: 30,000
It’s the ultimate riverfront venue with a stage overlooking the Trinity River and the downtown skyline lit up behind. Some of the biggest festivals in the city are held here including Fort Worth’s Fourth, Rockin’ the River, and the inaugural Shaq’s Bass All-Stars Festival happening Saturday, Sept. 16.

Capacity: 200+
Don’t miss out on delicious food, brews, and live music — aka the perfect place for a weekend hangout. Located in a former Post Office building, the venue opened in 2019 and is home to an open-air patio with live music every week, and a menu featuring black-eyed pea hummus + jalapeno bacon brie and pulled pork nachos.

A new restaurant serving Asian-inspired flavors is open for takeout on Magnolia Avenue. Eazy Monkey serves items like Dan Dan chili dogs, mushroom noodle salad, and a vegetarian corn rib dish. The kitchen is only available through third-party delivery services, but chef Andrew Dilda expects to fully open by mid-Septmeber. (PaperCity Fort Worth)
Development
We’re getting a better idea of what the renovated Fort Worth Convention Center will look like. Last week, the city released a new rendering of Phase 1 of the project showcasing the outdoor terrace, new state-of-the-art kitchen, and renovated exhibit hall restrooms. Construction will begin this month.
Award
Dickies Arena will be honored with the 2023 Vandergriff Award during the Fort Worth Chamber State of the County address on Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Convention Center. The annual award honors a legacy individual or organization whose contributions positively impact Tarrant County on a national scale.
Coming Soon
Latin-inspired seafood restaurant La Onda is back in a new location in the Near Southside. The restaurant closed its doors on Race Street in the spring but will reopen inside Hotel Revel in mid-September with delicious ceviche and a raw bar. Stay tuned for an official reopening date.
Biz
More industrial buildings are planned for Alliance. Developer Hillwood plans to build two more speculative warehouse projects totaling nearly 500,000 sqft. The buildings will be in the Alliance Center East business park in the I-35W corridor and are expected to be completed early next year. (The Dallas Morning News)

Happening Saturday, Oct. 7 + Sunday, Oct. 8 in Arlington, guests can expect delicious barbecue cooked by 12 world-class and award-winning pitmasters, live music, a rib-eating contest, and live cooking demonstrations.
