The PBR World Finals is busting through the gates. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) World Finals is celebrating its 30th anniversary and its second year in Cowtown. The annual competition called Las Vegas home since 1992, but officially moved to Dickies Arena in 2022.

The first three rounds kicked off over the weekend + the final four rounds will be held Thursday, May 18-Sunday, May 21.

While Kaique Pacheco may be at the top of the leaderboard, the Fort Worth Zoo’s gorillas tapped Montague native Daniel Keeping to win and take home the coveted golden belt buckle.

This ain’t our first rodeo. We’ve rounded up some events so you can take this week by the horns.

Victory has risen — The Dallas Stars defeated the Seattle Kraken (2-1) last night with a home-ice advantage in Game 7 of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Division Finals.

The No. 2 seeded Stars now advance to the Western Conference Finals, taking on the No. 1 seeded Vegas Golden Knights, starting on Friday, May 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The best-of-seven third round series will be played between T-Mobile Arena and American Airlines Center, with the first two games in Las Vegas, the second two games in Dallas, and then alternating sites if necessary for Games 5-7.

Since the Stars moved to Texas from Minnesota in 1993, the team has made 14 postseason appearances, last winning the Stanley Cup in the 1998-1999 season. The last time they made it to Round 3 was in 2020, defeating the Golden Knights. Sadly, the Stars lost in the final round to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

From the editor
The sun is coming up earlier every day and summer is on the horizon. Luckily, that helps me roll out of bed a little earlier so I can get a jump on my day before it starts to heat up. Tell us, what do y’all like to do before work in the summer?

I’m partial to a walk through Trinity Park and a blueberry cake treat from Dale’s Donuts #9.
