Unleash the Beast: PBR World Finals kicks off at Cowtown Coliseum

Strap in for all the bull riding and western rodeo events during the PBR World Finals in Fort Worth.

The PBR World Finals is busting through the gates. The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) is going back to its roots with Elimination Rounds kicking off at Cowtown Coliseum tonight at 7:45 p.m.

PBR co-founder and National Rodeo Hall of Famer Cody Lambert, who won the organization’s first official event at the venue in 1993, recognized the 1908 coliseum as “the center of the universe as far as rodeo is concerned,” in a press conference earlier this week.

The world’s 40 best bull riders will compete in the Stockyards through Sunday, May 12 + again in redemption rounds on Wednesday, May 15 + Thursday, May 16. Then, the top 15 athletes will advance to the championship at AT&T Stadium on Saturday, May 18 + Sunday, May 19.

While three-time champion Silvano Alves may be competing in his 15th consecutive World Finals, the Fort Worth Zoo’s lion cub tapped Brazilian rider Eduardo Aparecido to take home the coveted golden belt buckle.
